Banda's Leg

I tend to talk about it a lot. Basically, what was thought to be an arthritic hip actually turned out to be a torn ligament (her right stifle/knee). It was not diagnosed properly until the day she refused to put weight down on her leg. She had surgery in January of this year. The vet says it could take up to a year to fully heal. She still favors this leg at times. She would hike for 20 miles if I let her. I’ve learned to stop after about 4 (depending on elevation), since that seems to be about right in this stage of recovery. Dogs are so amazing and resilient!
