Merritt Lake ~ 6 miles ~ 1900 Ele

Woke up and left at the break of dawn (9:00am) and was thrilled to see the sunshine. We originally planned to hike Bare Mtn, but instead decided on Merritt Lake at the last moment. Good Hike! We kept a steady pace, or so I thought…….but we were passed by a man in his 70’s. Interesting fellow. We found him again at the top and he proceeded to tell us many more places we could go hiking. We had every intention of hanging out to rest at the lake but at 5,000 feet it was too dang cold. Bone chilling cold. On our way out, we stopped at Zekes and woofed down a burger and fries. No guilt. None.
